“Does my Business need a website if it has a Facebook?”
We have been often asked this very question, and our three-part answer is Yes, Yes, and Yes! Having a Facebook Page for your Business is great, however, your Facebook page should not replace your business’s Website! Think of your Website and your Facebook Business Page as two people in a relationship, they complement each other.
Your Website Should
Let’s be honest anything that represents your company should be done with the appropriate branding. Your company’s brand helps people to instantly recognize anything related to your company.
If someone were to visit your website they should be able to find all of the information that they need to do business with you, such as:
- Company Description
- Company’s Mission, Vision, and Goals
- Contact Information
Your Facebook Should
Your Business’s Facebook page should complement your website, and your company’s brand. The account should be used to promote things from your website, to keep your followers up to date on news related to your business, help create brand recognition.
Use your Facebook account to be playful if it is appropriate. Your website is in place to inform, so use your Facebook to replay that information in a fun creative way! For example, use observed holidays to tie in fun subjects such as “National Book Lovers Day” or “National Ice Cream Day.”
Most importantly you want to use your Facebook to ENGAGE with your follower and/or subscribers. It is important that they feel like they are heard, after all, they are your target market, and they are the ones using your products and services. Their opinion counts!
